Why Hiring the Right roofing Contractor Can Save You Thousands of Dollars

Quality. Time. Price. – Can You Really Pick All Three?

If you are reading this, chances are, you are in the market for a new roof. It’s possible that your old roof is leaking, or maybe you just purchased a home and it needs an updated roof. When looking at your available options through the “project management triangle” where you can only pick two choices from Quality, Time and Price, Quality should never be one of the choices that are left out of the equation.

Why do you ask? It’s simple really. Your home is one of the most prized possessions you own. Wouldn’t you want to protect it? There’s no arguing that a roof replacement project is not a cheap project to finance. Should you always go with the lowest priced roofing contractor?

Probably not, and here’s why. Although there may be qualified contractors that are willing to negotiate a lower price to get the job, chances are, you will end up paying for it in the end. Using poor quality materials, or even cutting out certain aspects like ice shield or drip edge on places up north that need them can wreak havoc to your roof immediately, or even a few years after you have the roof installed. There’s no greater hassle than having to hire other contractors every year to repair roof leaks coming from improperly installed roof substrates and poorly installed flashing. You have to remember that every time you have to get your roof leak examined and fixed, it will cost you money.

The point that I am trying to make is simple. It pays to get the work done right the first time by a qualified and licensed roofing contractor. Make sure that they have an established presence in the community with a proven reputation for quality craftsmanship. You may end up having to go with a contractor that was not the cheapest bid, but will do the job and leave you with a new roof and a peace of mind. Most contractors are fairly quick at installing a new roof, and charge a competitive price when compared with the competition. When it comes to quality though, it is not something you want to go without. Protect your most prized possession for many years to come by having it done right, the first time. Doing this will save you thousands of dollars down the road.
